School Project - Video Mapping (2021)

Every year, my school hosts a two-week event where all ESD students — from first-year to master’s — come together to create a project in a single night: DIGINIGHT. In 2022, I participated again, and the theme was “Rethink.” We’re fortunate to have a beautiful atrium at the heart of the school, located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. It connects all parts of the campus, much like a public square. The goal of the event was to enhance and reimagine this unique space.
Video mapping is a discipline that blends craftsmanship, motion design, video editing, sound design, and light to create immersive experiences that respond to physical surfaces.
Assistant Project Manager (26-person team, Agile method) / Technical Operator (MadMapper, Resolume)
We approached project management through a reimagined creative lens. Instead of following a traditional linear process with sequential validations, we adopted an inverted pyramid model, where the storytelling emerged from the motion design elements produced by the teams. We divided the team into three groups — Architecture, Figurative, and Optical Illusion — each focusing on a specific dimension of the atrium's transformation.
By combining the SCRUM methodology with this reversed creative process, the narrative was built progressively by the tech and projection crew based on the outputs from each group.
